If I Go Missing is a mixture of graphic novel style visuals and nonfiction writing, from a young girl to the Chief of Police asking for better for the Indigenous communities of Canada.

Trigger Warning: Disappearances, racism and bad policing.

I give this book 4 stars (out of five).  I found this book to be very impactful and meaningful as it covers the very important topic of the many Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls in Canada. This book specifically is based on a real letter a young Indigenous girl sent to the Chief of Police in Winnipeg. I’m really glad they used the actual message from the letter and effective images with it. I was also very glad that it’s readily available in the Teen Section of my local library, because it’s about important issues that young people should be fully informed about.
